SAG-AHAN FESTIVAL

Sag-ahan Festival manifests its joy and sense of thanksgiving and gratefulness for all the blessings and abundance it has received through the years. Sag-ahan is derived from the original name of the settlement near the Sag-ahan River many years ago. In the local dialect “sag-ahan” means to take or catch fish with the hands. This method of fishing was popularly used due to the abundance of fish in the area.

PAGODA SA WAWA
Bocaue, Bulacan

Held annually on the 1st Sunday of July in the town of Bocaue, the festival features a fluvial parade in honor of the miraculous "Krus sa Wawa". A huge pagoda bearing the image of the Krus accompanied by some 200 devotees symbolizes a dramatic tradition inspired by centuries-old tales. It is believed that the mounting of such a festival assures the agricultural town of Bocaue a bountiful harvest.

A street dancing competition that hoinors the town’s patron saint, Senor Santiago de Apostol. History retells of a war between Christians and Muslims where the townsfolk saw and was saved by a miraculous apparition of a man riding a horse and later became known as the town’s patron saint. The neighing of the horse is incorporated in official beat of the street dance.

It is a two-day event that will showcase the Pampanga''''s best offerings - from food, furniture, designs and culture - all under one major affair. "Manyaman" is a Kapampangan word for "masarap" (delicious).
Different municipalities from the province will be invited to display their wares and what makes them unique from other areas.
The event will be graced by top Kapampangan personality known for his culinary expertise, Mr. Claude Tayag. It will also be highlighted by a fashion show top billed by Pampanga''''s best designers and noted fashion icons modeled by Pampanga''''s celebrated beauty title holders.
"Manyaman Festival" aims to showcase Pampanga at its best with its authentic and original recipe. The event, which is first in Clark, has the potential to be held annually and mark Pampanga as the province where good food is produced. It will be a joint effort of CDC, DOT and the Governor''''s Office of Pampanga with the support of the different municipalities in the province.
